MANDO Meals: 2025 Seed Money Challenge

Mando Projects has officially entered the 2025 SeedMoney Challenge with its transformative School Lunch Support Project for Nkuyan Primary School in Kajiado County. The proposal seeks to address chronic hunger and poor school attendance in the drought-prone region by providing every learner with a nutritious daily meal.

The initiative, designed in partnership with teachers, parents, and local leaders, aims to create a sustainable, community-led feeding model. By sourcing maize, beans, vegetables, and other produce from local farmers and women’s groups, the project will boost the local economy while ensuring children receive reliable, healthy meals.

Through this program, Mando Projects hopes to improve class attendance, enhance academic performance, and reduce dropout rates—demonstrating that consistent nutrition is key to effective learning. If successful, the Nkuyan School Lunch Project could serve as a scalable model for other schools across arid regions of Kajiado County.

Mando Projects’ entry into the Seed Money Challenge marks an important step toward improving child wellbeing and strengthening food security in vulnerable communities.
